Salon treatments for a professional and flawless tan

St. Tropez is the first choice of professionals and beginners the world over because every product is created to deliver a beautiful even tan, every time.

For a flawless finish, there's nothing quite like a professional touch - that's why our salon treatments are as popular as ever. Choose from the hand-applied Original Treatment for a rich, bronze long-lasting glow or a Spray Tan which delivers a flawless finish in minutes.

Original treatment

The Original Treatment is a luxurious pampering hour-long treat which delivers exceptionally smooth, rich bronze results. The treatment begins with a full body exfoliation to prepare the skin for tanning. The therapist will then custom-blend the Bronzing Lotion and apply to the entire body before buffing to finish.

Before Treatment Advice

•Skin should be free from self tan, perfume, deodorant or aromatherapy oils

•Waxing or shaving should be completed at least 24 hours prior to the treatment

•Wear dark, loose fitting clothing with dark coloured underwear. The guide colour may stain light hair, man-made fibres and wool

•We recommend you have a patch test prior to every treatment

After Tan Advice

Do not shower or bathe for a minimum of 4 hours after your treatment

•Do not participate in any activity which may cause perspiration for at least 12 hours after the treatment

•The guide colour can be left on overnight although it may transfer onto bed linen. It will wash out of cotton, but not so easily from man-made fibres or wool

Keep your tan looking gorgeous for longer

•Apply St. Tropez Body Moisturiser or St. Tropez Body Butter daily

•Exfoliate your skin with St. Tropez Body Polish every 2-3 days to ensure even fading

•After showering pat the skin dry rather than rubbing

•Avoid swimming pools as chlorine can bleach the tan

Spray tan treatment

The St. Tropez Spray Tan Treatment is the quickest way to get a professional finish. Delivered in around 15 minutes, the spray is quick drying and now features Aromaguard™ fragrance technology which eliminates the tell-tale self tan aroma by a minimum of 70%.

Before treatment Advice

Skin should be free from self tan, perfume, deodorant and any oils

•We recommend you have a patch test prior to every treatment

St Tropez launches Aromaguard

Regarded by many as the leading tanning brand, St Tropez is set to revolutionise the tanning world again with the launch of its new range this week. St Tropez has built its reputation on providing the highest quality tanning products to achieve one of the best fake tans around. Whether you prefer the more subtle glow of the 'no tan-tan', or a more deep, bronzed colour, you will be guaranteed a gorgeous colour without a streak in sight.

But the latest products are set to further elevate the range, thanks to its new Aromaguard fragrance technology, which effectively removes the biggest complaint about any self-tanner - the smell. The main active ingredient in all self-tanning products is DHA, this reacts with the proteins on the outer surface of the skin, which in turn causes the bronzing effect and produces the distinctive 'wet biscuit' smell that until now was the price you paid for a beautiful glow. Understanding the nature of this smell, the people at St Tropez have developed the cutting edge fragrance technology in Aromaguard to virtually eliminate this smell and allow a counteracting fragrance to be added.

Monopods

Monopods are mythological dwarf-like creatures with a single leg and a large foot. They are found in many works of fiction dating back to ancient Greece. Monopods are even mentioned in Pliny the Elder's Historia Naturalis (c. 77 CE), an encyclopedia of natural history. Twentieth-century writer C.S. Lewis also featured the one-legged creatures in his Chronicles of Narnia allegorical fantasy series. In both accounts, monopods are said to use their oversized feet for what purpose? More... Discuss

Battle of Tannenberg Ends (1914)

The Battle of Tannenberg was a decisive engagement between Russian and German forces in WWI. After invading German East Prussia, the Russian First and Second armies became separated. German forces then attacked one of the isolated armies and forced its retreat, killing and capturing tens of thousands in the process. Though disastrous for Russia, the battle forced Germany to divert troops from the Western Front during the first critical weeks of the war. Why was the battle named after Tannenberg? More... Discuss

Arthur Adolph "Harpo" Marx (1888)

Harpo was a member of the American comedy team known as the Marx Brothers. The brothers enjoyed success in vaudeville, on Broadway, and in motion pictures from the early 1900s to about 1950. Harpo never spoke during their performances and instead blew a horn, whistled, or mimed to communicate. He also got laughs with his prop-laden sight gags, many of which involved the seemingly infinite number of odd items he managed to produce from his topcoat's oversized pockets. How did he get his nickname? More... Discuss

This modern version of Stanley Milgram's so-called small world experiment found that the average number of acquaintances separating any two Facebook users is currently only 4.74. The study also finds that people's interconnectedness over Facebook is growing. In 2008, the average Facebook user was 5.28 degrees away from any other member. More ... Discuss
